A gathering of supporters of John Wesley (1703– 1791) set sail from Britain for India under the initiative of Thomas Coke. James Linch, who went with Coke, established the Methodist Mission in India, setting up a little school and a church at Royapettah, Madras (now Chennai) in 1818.
Royapettah School, a High School, was established not long after 1848, by Ebenezer Jenkins. He figured out how to set up Wesley Arts College back then. At the point when the Arts College was shut in 1935, Meston College of Education rose in 1937 headed by Rev. T.R. Foulger. The Wesley High School notwithstanding its standard scholarly exercises filled in as an honing school for this expert school.
